The functionality of an inlet vane control is based on generating a targeted swirl in the direction of rotation of the fan impeller. By adjusting the fanned-out arrangement of the vanes, the characteristic curve of the centrifugal fan is actively influenced. Compared to simple throttling by conventional dampers, this method offers significant aerodynamic advantages: pressure loss is minimized, and the power consumption of the drive motor in partial load operation is significantly reduced. This leads to a considerable increase in the overall efficiency of the plant and sustainably reduces operating costs.

The mechanical design of the inlet vane controls is engineered for maximum stability and precision. The adjustment of the vanes is synchronized via a central adjustment mechanism that can be controlled manually, pneumatically, or electrically, depending on the requirement. Thanks to individual design, the inlet vane controls can be precisely matched to the dimensions and performance data of the respective fan. They are suitable both for the initial equipment of new plants and for the energy-efficient modernization (retrofit) of existing systems to bring their efficiency up to the latest state of the art.
